Why does the Audible for Android app have access to certain permissions on my device?

The Audible for Android app requests for specific Android permissions in order for the app to function properly. These permissions are listed upon install from the Google Play Store.
  • Photos/Media/Files allows the Audible app to add and modify files that have been added to your SD card or device storage.
  • Wi-Fi Connection Information allows the app to access the Wi-Fi data on your phone.
  • Other allows the app access to your network preferences, Bluetooth settings, and prevents the device from entering sleep mode while you are listening to an audiobook.
